Thank you to all who have joined us at the Centreville Place: Café + Market and welcomed us to the neighborhood! We acquired the café and started serving on November 2021. We are so grateful to have been a part of your holiday feasts and daily celebrations! We are always making improvements to serve our community better.

I was born into an instant community—a household with 11 other siblings–8 brothers and three sisters. Throughout my life, I have always loved the splendor of bringing people together at the table and with that many hungry people, I learned to cook at a very early age! Things were crazy in that household! While there wasn’t much room to even change your mind, there was always a space at the table…in fact, you were required to be there! Like so many, my parents believed in the power of coming together at the table, and we often had wonderful conversations, major debates, and magical dishes that inspired how I serve my community today.

We had a massively long table–it was my great-grandmother’s table and the chairs were something my parents had rescued from a nearby schoolhouse when it was closed. So you could say we were sitting in chairs that were meant for learning at the table. Often, it wasn’t just us, but neighbor kids, relatives, and college kids from around the world who had no place to go on the holiday breaks were at our table. The diversity of ideas and potlucks of personalities were very influential in my formative years. I loved the feeling of community that would happen there at our table…it was magic!

Vince also comes from a heritage rich in family gatherings and savory recipes. He is known to spontaneously put a table in a big open field, create events like Brandywine in White, and is a multi-prize winning tailgater! We met at one of his table events and have combined our passions in many farm-to-table dinners for community fundraisers to save local farms and support important causes. Our favorite pastime is scouring local consignment shops for dishes and vintage furniture to create unique vignettes. One of our favorites was Christmas in our barn at our home Chadds Peak Farm. Over time, so many people said, “You two should have a place,”…and now we do! Using our creativity and the best ingredients as close to the source to make a daily menu guides us today as it did then.
Whether the gathering is for two or two hundred, there is magic when people come together at the table over good food and conversation. In the changing ways of our world, we believe it could be an answer to bringing us all closer together. In this endeavor, we are committed to supporting our local farms, among many other beautiful purveyors of all that is delicious!
We invite you to join us whenever it fits your schedule. Have breakfast and lunch, stop by for Thursday + Friday Bistro Nights, or one of our unique dinner events. We have a full liquor license and will happily assist you in pairing something with your meal or just enjoy a cocktail.
We have made changes to the spaces–there are even upper rooms available for private gatherings and meetings. We can prepare meals for you or gather items from our growing gourmet marketplace and figure out something for every appetite. Whatever your celebration, whether large or a party of one, let us know how we may be of service.
